Welcome to The Unique Parent Club
Kathleen Browne & Co. — The Unique Parent Club
Our Coaching Program helps overwhelmed special needs parents, carers and foster carers build a practical Navigation Plan so they can stop feeling lost, make clearer decisions, and know their next step.
Are you an overwhelmed special needs parent, carer or foster carer? You may be feeling: * Tired from carrying the caring role every day. * Isolated because other people do not understand your life. * Overwhelmed by doctors, specialists, therapists, school meetings and reports. * Confused by the NDIS and unsure what to do next. * Exhausted from trying to organise appointments, paperwork, services and family life. * Guilty because you need a break for a few hours, a day or longer. * Torn between caring for your child with disability and being available for your other children. * Stretched thin in your relationships, friendships and family events. * Unsure how to ask for help or explain what support your family really needs. * Tired of holding everything in your head. * Ready to have a life and a plan for yourself, not only a plan for the disability caring role handed to you. From Overwhelmed to Confident
Special needs parenting can feel like being handed a role you never applied for, with no instruction manual.
Diagnosis. Appointments. Therapies. Education. The NDIS. Funding. Relationships. Work. Family life. The future.
You don't have to know how to navigate everything today.
You can learn. You can prepare. You can build confidence. And you can become the parent who knows what matters, what to ask, what to document and what to do next.
What Is a Unique Parent?
What Is a Unique Parent?
A Unique Parent doesn't have an easy journey. They get better at navigating it.
- They know their child.
- They ask questions.
- They understand what their child needs.
- They document what is happening.
- They find the right supports.
- They advocate with confidence.
- They make informed decisions.
- They look after their family — and themselves.
- They keep learning as their child grows.
And eventually, other people look at them and say: "You make it look easy."
I Know This Journey
I Know This Journey
My journey into special needs parenting began with my son.
I didn't begin as an expert. I began as a mother trying to understand what was happening, what my child needed and what I needed to do next.
I learned to ask questions, gather information, document needs, advocate, work with professionals, navigate systems and solve problems.
That lived experience became part of my professional journey as a Social Worker and NDIS Registered Provider, and eventually became my book, The Unique Parent Club — Navigating the Extraordinary Journey of Special Needs Parenting.
Today, I help other Unique Parents navigate the journey I know so well.

Your Child Will Grow. Your Role Will Change.
Your Child Will Grow. Your Role Will Change.
The journey doesn't end with a diagnosis, an NDIS plan or a school placement. Your child's needs will change. Your family will change. The systems around you will change.
We help you navigate the journey from childhood to adulthood — one stage, one decision and one practical step at a time.
The Unique Parent Club Book
The Unique Parent Club
You weren't handed a handbook when you began this journey. That changes today. My published book, The Unique Parent Club: Navigating the Extraordinary Journey of Special Needs Parenting, is your step-by-step roadmap to sanity.
This isn't a dry clinical manual. It is an honest, powerful, and deeply motivating guide built from real-world survival. It is the absolute foundation of our program.
We anchor your master strategy across the two most critical milestones of care:
The Launch Phase (Under 18)
Master the art of gathering watertight evidence, organising daycare, preschool, and high school, and protecting your marriage, your other children, and household routine from daily crisis mode.
The Long Horizon (Adult Children)
Build concrete, long-term operational leadership for your adult dependents, ensuring their future is fully protected long after traditional childhood systems change or disappear.
Start Becoming a Standout Unique Parent
